Bell tents, sky domes and timber cabins on 140 acres of pine and meadow — a certified dark-sky park two hours from Portland, where the only light at night is the fire.
Move your cursor across the sky — the stars connect.
We built eight hand-crafted stays on the edge of the Ochoco forest, spaced far apart so every porch faces nothing but trees and sky. No generators, no floodlights, no Wi-Fi in the tents — just stillness, a crackling fire and the Milky Way overhead.

Geodesic dome with a clear roof panel above the bed and a cedar hot tub outside the door.

Hand-built log cabin in the old pines with a loft, a full kitchen and a porch swing.

Raised canvas tent on a timber deck, ten steps from the water and the canoe rack.

Updated every evening by our resident astronomer. Bortle class 2 — dark enough to see your shadow by starlight.

Red torches only. Our astronomer leads a 90-minute walk to the ridge to read the sky by eye.

Saturn’s rings, the Andromeda galaxy and a double star or two through our 14-inch Dobsonian.

Cast-iron cooking over oak coals: flatbreads, smoked trout, charred greens and s’mores.

“We lay in the Lyra Dome and watched three shooting stars before we fell asleep. Our kids still talk about it.”
“Proper beds, a hot stove and total darkness. It is camping for people who have forgotten how good camping can be.”
“The dawn canoe was the most peaceful hour of my year. The coffee in the boat did not hurt either.”
Midweek stays from $145 a night. Book two nights or more and the first campfire supper is on us.
